Great question. Yes, you can use =DIVIDE(A1, 12) and it should work just fine.

If i have a cell with a total but I want to divide it by 12 months, do i have to create a cell that says 12 for the function to work? Or can i =DIVIDE(Cell#/12) some how??

If one of the cells is showing #N/A, you won’t be able to use it as the numerator or denominator. The cell value must be a number.
